'Dancing With the Stars' siblings Derek and Julianne Hough will produce and choreograph a brand new TV show about the cut-throat world of ballroom dancing for US TV network Starz.
Julianne and Derek Hough are creating a new TV show about ballroom dancing.
The 'Dancing With the Stars' siblings will choreograph and produce a brand new drama series set in the cut-throat world of international competitive ballroom dancing for US entertainment company Starz.
Carmi Zlotnik, Starz's managing director, said in a statement: ''Their experiences growing up in this highly competitive world are riveting and also shocking. There is much more to uncover than what we see on the dance floor.''
''Viewers are going to see a twisted, sexy, funny, dark and passionate side of the drama and politics in the world of ballroom dance that delves deeper than spray tans and sequins.''
The professional dancers' new project will centre around an annual competition in the British seaside town of Blackpool.
Julianne and Derek have both won 'Dancing With The Stars', with Derek being the show's only three-time champion. He started dancing at age 11 and has performed on-stage in 'Footloose' in London's West End.
Two-time winner Julianne has turned her hand to acting and can be seen opposite Josh Duhamel in the film 'Safe Haven'. She will next grace the big screen in 'Paradise' alongside Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer.
