Denai Moore has announced details of her forthcoming EP and new live shows, including a headline gig at St Pancras Church. 'The Lake' EP will be released on November 4th on Because Music as 12 inch single and download.
The follow-up to May's debut EP 'Suadade', 'The Lake' EP was recorded in London and Paris with producer's Ben Drew (aka Plan B) and Renaud Letang (Feist, Gonzales, Manu Chau). Lead track 'The Lake' - produced by Drew - has a soulful, melancholic beauty that is profoundly moving, illustrating why Denai's peers are getting so excited about the 19 year old from East London. A natural and instinctive songwriter, she penned all the tracks on the EP - there are no co-writes.
Denai Moore's immense talent was obvious from the moment she posted the sparse, haunting 'Flaws' online at the end of 2012. Picked up by a host of influential blogs, the track also brought Denai to the attention of Tom Odell, who invited her to support him on his headline tour in May.
Born in Jamaica but raised in Stratford, Denai Moore has been creating music since she was 7. Thanks to a youthful obsession with Lauryn Hill, Denai learnt about crafting songs infused with honesty and pure emotion. More recently, her love of artists like Bon Iver, Feist and James Blake, has led her to write the kind of soul searching, heart-on sleeve, disarmingly honest songs that have been know to make grown men cry.
