Singer Demi Lovato has thanked pals including ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas for helping her through the darkest time of her life.
The Camp Rock star spent three months in rehab at the end of 2010 and the beginning of this year (11), battling an eating disorder, self-harming and depression issues and now she's publicly thanking her pals for standing by her and watching out for her now she's embarking on a healthy, more positive life.
And she admits Jonas was a big help when she was at rock bottom.
In a candid radio interview with DJ Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday (12Jul11), she said, "He knew (about my problems) when we shot the first movie (Camp Rock) together. I've had a lot of support. Obviously, I'm not super close to him anymore... but I was thankful to have the support of many friends.
"(Now), friends will tell me, 'You need to eat more than that...' I have a lot of friends who are helping me through whatever issues I have."
And she used the radio chat to dismiss gossip suggesting she has recorded a duet with her ex for her comeback album, adding, "There is a duet with a guy... but I've done, like, 20 duets with them (Jonas Brothers), so I think it's time to move on."
She also used the interview to apologise for the way she treated some of her friends at the height of her problems last year (10).
She stated, "I was cranky and irritable and not pleasant to work with... I became like a little brat... I had so much going on in my head."
Her problems came to a head on the Jonas Brothers tour when she fought with a backing dancer. Days later, she quit the South American leg of the tour and checked into rehab.
