Demi Lovato has opened up about her personal issues in her first post-rehab TV interview.
The 18-year-old Disney star quit a tour with the Jonas Brothers late last year (10) and checked into an undisclosed facility to receive treatment for "emotional and physical issues".
She left rehab in January (11) but has remained largely silent about her treatment, only speaking out to tell fans, "I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the support you guys have given me along the way... Your support is what got me through this... The journey that I've been on has been very difficult over the past few months."
But the singer/actress sat down for an in-depth interview with journalist Robin Roberts on Thursday (31Mar11) to "tell my story" - and Lovato insists she's grateful to be able to detail her experiences.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "Wow... What an amazing and life changing morning... I feel blessed and thankful beyond words.
"Robin Roberts thank you SO much for helping me tell my story today. Today was really special for me.. Thank you.. God bless!"
Roberts adds, "Moved by her honesty. Interview will air later and will help many. She truly touched me today. Very open, wonderful."
The chat will air in the U.S. in the coming weeks on Good Morning America and news show 20/20.
