The DJ/producer recently stepped away from sites including Twitter and Facebook following a number of public spats, including a post criticising pop star Justin Bieber.

Deadmau5 has since reactivated his online accounts, and revealed he is dealing with health problems.

"Like many other human beings, I've been dealing with some depression issues that I don't need to go into detail with," he writes in a post on "I'd consider myself far from emotionally stable, though, not unstable enough to know support when I see it. Deactivating social media for a minute has nothing at all to do with pop stars or dubstep tryhards. It was a kneejerk reaction to something i saw coming a long time ago. Also, nobody's business but my own. I'd like to apologize to my fans and supporters for f**king off so abruptly, and leaving them out of the loop... I'll resume that program for you."

The DJ goes on to reveal he plans to slow down his social media usage over the festive season, but will resume in the New Year (16).

"It's the holidays, so I'll slow things down until the new year, and chill out with friends and loved ones on vacation till the 17th or so. Then it's back into the new studio, where I'll just keep being me, and making music," he adds.
