Nominations for this year's Daytime Emmy Awards have been announced, with two recently axed soap operas getting nods in a number of categories. 'All My Children', 'One Life to Live' and 'General Hospital' all have multiple opportunities to leave as winners at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards.
'All My Children', the long running soap opera starring Susan Lucci, has earned 13 nominations including 'Best Daytime Drama' and 'Best Actress in a Daytime Drama' while 'One Life To Live' received 12 nominations. Both shows have been cancelled by ABC bosses, despite being on the air for over 40 years. Elsewhere in the nominations, Regis Philbin was nominated for best talk-show host, an award he once shared with Rosie O'Donnell. Philbin's show 'Live with Regis and Kelly' is also nominated for the 'Best Talk Show' and will go head-to-head with 'The Ellen Degeneres Show', 'The Rachael Ray Show' and 'The View'. 'General Hospital' leads the way in this year's Daytime Emmy nominations with 21, followed by 'The Young and the Restless' with 20 and children's programme 'Sesame Street' with 16.
This year's Daytime Emmy Awards will be distributed at the ceremony on 19th June 2011 at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel.
