Designs, scenes, characters and images from the cult mystery series will appear on boards and items including T-shirts, mugs and lapel pins from the Habitat skateboard company.

Among the designs are boards featuring the face of Laura Palmer, the character whose death sets off a chain of events in the quirky series.

Twin Peaks debuted in 1990, but was cancelled by bosses at America's ABC network the following year (91) after just two series.

After a 1992 feature film, Twin Peaks lived on as a beloved cult hit, it is now set to return to screens on the Showtime network in May (17).

A special two day event celebrating the show is also being held at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on Thursday (16Mar17) and Friday (17Mar17) .

Attending the celebration of the show at the Clive Bar in Austin, Texas is Kyle MacLachlan, who played the series' main protagonist Dale Cooper, an FBI Special Agent investigating Laura's murder.

The event will also feature musical performances from acts including Tame Impala's Cameron Avery, British group Let's Eat Grandma and singer-songwriter Neko Case.
