LATEST: Rocker David Lee Roth is determined to bring Van Halen back together after getting sacked from his DJing job for CBS Radio. The out-of-work JUMP singer, who replaced Howard Stern in January (06), was taken off the air last month (APR06) following disappointing ratings - and now he's concentrating all his efforts on reuniting the original Van Halen line-up. He says, "I see it (the reunion) absolutely as an inevitability. There's contact between the two camps, and they have legitimate management. "To me, it's not rocket surgery. It's very simple to put together. And, as far as hurt feelings and water under the dam... so what? It's showbiz! So I definitely see it happening." Roth departed the Van Halen line-up in 1985 amid a war of words with guitarist EDDIE VAN HALEN. Attempts to work together since have largely fallen through, although the rocker did contribute vocals to the group's BEST OF VAN HALEN VOLUME 1 a decade ago (96).
