The French DJ recently ranked third in a Forbes list of highest paid DJs, behind Calvin Harris and Tiesto, but knows exactly how he can boost his $28 million (£21 million) fortune - by appearing at legendary British music festival Glastonbury.
“I’ve done a few big festivals in the UK now but Glastonbury I never did,” he told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “I know it’s amazing, from what I understand it’s like Coachella in Europe, so I would love to do that.”
Fans were quick to take to Twitter after the performances, split between the festival’s two sites in Essex and Staffordshire, praising the 48-year-old’s energetic set.
“David Guetta was unbelievable on Saturday #VFestival,” one user wrote, while another exclaimed, “Summary of #VFestival2016: Rihanna and David Guetta shut it down, Sia and Bastille were incredible, Little Mix had a great vibe.”
While Guetta’s set appeared to go off without a hitch, not all of the acts were so lucky. Sia’s Saturday (20Aug16) show at Chelmsford was delayed due to bad weather conditions, while Justin Bieber told fans during his headline set he was feeling a little worse for wear after partying with fellow headliner Rihanna on Friday (19Aug16).
