Iconic musician David Bowie is unlikely to make a rare public appearance at this year's (14) Brit Awards despite receiving a nod in two categories.

The reclusive singer has been nominated for Best Male Solo and British Album of the Year for his 2013 comeback record The Next Day.

The news sparked hopes the Ashes to Ashes hitmaker would attend the ceremony in London next month (Feb14), but editors at The Sun newspaper report an appearance is doubtful.

A source tells the publication, "It's very unlikely David will attend. He's kept a very low profile in recent years and has no intention of changing that. He'll obviously be honoured to win anything but he's clearly not fussed about showing his face."
