David Bowie's new album REALITY is the rocker's personal tribute to his adopted home New York - and those who lost their lives in the September 11 (01) terrorist attacks.

The British star was devastated by what he saw two years ago (01) as planes flew into the WORLD TRADE CENTER during AL-QAEDA's terrorist attack on America.

And he felt compelled to write about the tragedy on his new album.

He explains, "I think it would be hard to avoid it. It's not a New York album, but it certainly has been influenced by what's gone down over the last couple of years.

"The events of 9/11 made a hard black line through the history of New York. Nothing could ever be the same after that, not quite the same. Everything's not quite as it was. It's like somebody's been into your house and rearranged all the furniture."
