Rock legend David Bowie is remaining tight-lipped on whether he's been offered a knighthood in his native Britain - but would turn it down even if he was.

The Ziggy Stardust hero has previously hinted he may have been offered the honour by THE QUEEN, but merely grins and answers, "Might have," when questioned directly.

But the THIN WHITE DUKE swears he'd have no interest in being a knight, unlike ROLLING STONE Mick Jagger, who earned derision from some fans when he became Sir Mick.

Bowie says, "I would never have any intention of accepting something like that. I seriously don't know what it's for. It's not what I spent my life working for.

"It's not my place to make a judgement on Jagger, it's his decision. But it's just not for me."
