A man who attempted to throw fruit at David Blaine's Perspex London home has accused the magician's "out of control" security guards of viciously assaulting him.

GEOFF POOLEY turned up at the site next to the River Thames - where Blaine is nearly two weeks into his bid to spend 44 days in a box without food - at 2 o'clock yesterday (17SEP03) morning, armed with a pocketful of lemons, nectarines and peaches.

But the prankster insists guards punched him in the face and hurled him against a fence before he threw anything. He was reportedly knocked unconscious and suffered a bloody gash above the eye.

The alleged attack comes after an incident on Tuesday (16SEP03) morning when a man attempted to sabotage Blaine's water supply.

Furious Pooley claims, "We were only having a bit of fun but the security men were just out of control."

The illusionist's bodyguards have slammed the accusations, insisting Pooley attacked them first.
