Illusionist David Blaine joked around during his first British TV interview since his ABOVE THE BELOW stunt - and claimed the whole episode was a charade.
The American magician spent 44 days without food in a Perspex box suspended above London's River Thames in September and October (03), but joked on British breakfast show GMTV this morning (02DEC03) that he'd faked the whole thing.
He said, "I've got a top secret. I've got a Pakistani double. He was in there the whole time. He had longer hair and was really skinny."
He then added, "I was sneaking in and out every four hours. The top looked like glass but it was a hologram glass made out of glucose," before reassuring fans, "I'm just joking."02/12/2003 21:07
