Legendary nature broadcaster Sir David Attenborough has vowed to head Down Under next month (Jul13) to complete his postponed speaking tour of Australia just weeks after undergoing heart surgery.
The 87-year-old Tv star underwent an emergency operation to have a pacemaker fitted last week (04Jun13), forcing him to cancel a planned trip to Australia on 11 June (13).
Attenborough is said to be recovering well after the surgery, and he has now rescheduled his tour to start on 11 July (13) after receiving the all-clear from doctors.
A statement from Attenborough reads, "Thank you everyone for all your wonderful and kind messages. Everything went well. I will see you in Australia very soon."
The three-week jaunt will include stops in Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne and will feature discussions on his hugely popular wildlife shows Life on Earth and The Living Planet.
