Former EURYTHMICS star Dave Stewart is auctioning off his star-studded piano prior to his move to America.

The black BECHSTEIN grand - which Stewart has owned for over 20 years - has been used to compose all the band's major hits, including SWEET DREAMS and HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN.

But the piano is being auctioned in London tomorrow (04APR05) with a reserve price of $5,700 (GBP3000), in preparation for Stewart's move across the Atlantic.

Many industry greats have played the 100-year-old instrument at Stewart's London studio, but his former Eurythmics partner Annie Lennox is expected to be the prime bidder at tomorrow's sale.

Stewart says, "I have watched this piano being played by so many legends - Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, PAUL McCARTNEY BRYAN FERRY and, of course, Annie, who played it all the time."

"Obviously the piano has great sentimental value. It holds a lot of memories for her."
