Darren Criss, the 23-year-old American actor and singer, celebrated becoming a permanent cast member on the hit show Glee by attending the premiere of the new Harry Potter film on Monday (15th November 2010).
RYAN MURPHY, Executive Producer of GLEE, recently confirmed that Criss will now become a regular on the show after making just one appearance, telling Digital Spy, "Darren has become such a sensation in one week, which I love. I think there's a hunger for him and a positive relationship role model. He'll definitely continue through the year and longer. We just signed a deal with him" Attending the premiere of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' was extra special for Criss as before his appearance on Glee, the 23-year-old starred in a YouTube viral video titled 'A Very Potter Musical'. Speaking at the event, Criss told MTV News, "A lot of people who know me as Harry, it's kind of weird, because I'm not Harry Potter. This is the closest I've ever been to anybody from the films and probably the closest I will ever get".
In his debut appearance on GLEE, Criss played 'Blaine', an openly gay student from a rival college who becomes a mentor to 'Kurt', played by Chris Colfer.
