Moviemaker Darren Aronofsky was so confused about a one-legged dog line in the song Bruce Springsteen wrote for his film THE WRESTLER, he confronted The Boss about the idea.
The director loved the theme song Springsteen wrote especially for his film, but couldn't understand one line.
He says, "When we made The Wrestler I got to hang out a little bit with him and there's a line in the song The Wrestler: 'Like a one-legged dog walking down the street.' When we were mixing the song Bruce wasn't around and we were like, 'What the hell's a one-legged down walking down the street?'
"I could picture a three-legged dog or two-legged dog. So the night he won a Golden Globe for the song, I had a couple of drinks in me and I was sitting next to him and I was like, 'With all humility and honour to who you are, what the hell is a one-legged dog walkin' down the street?'
"He said, 'Art often comes out of the mistakes and that's when the poetry comes alive and you have to welcome them.'"
