Daniel Craig managed to raise many temperatures playing poker in a dashing tuxedo in the latest Bond film, Casino Royale, and now the suit has managed to raise thousands for charity.

The tuxedo sold for £12,000 at an auction held to raise money for the children's charity ChildLine.

Other lots that were eagerly snapped up included a walk-on part in Desperate Housewives and the Big Brother chair, which went for £17,000 and £5,500.

And a visit to the set of Lost in Hawaii raised £5,200 for the charity.

In total the auction, which concluded with a 1920s-themed ball at London's Park Lane hotel this weekend, managed to raise an impressive £150,000.

According to the BBC, TV presenter Esther Rantzen, the charity's founder and president, said that bidders had helped the charity to increase the number of volunteers working for ChildLine.

Ms Rantzen added that the money raised had "surpassed my wildest dreams".
