Pop star Daniel Bedingfield has picked an unusual location to help mentally prepare him for his 2005 tour - the site of his near-fatal car crash.

The GOTTA GET THRU THIS singer, 25, has decided to return to his homeland, New Zealand, for the festive period - one year after his Jeep careered off a road and landed on its roof, leaving Bedingfield with serious head and neck injuries.

But despite the bad memories, the singer deems New Zealand the perfect place to seek inspiration ahead of his return to the live arena.

An insider says, "This year (04) has been one of the biggest for Daniel.

"He overcame a broken neck and managed to write, record and promote a new album, a lot of hard work which some people might have shied away from.

"He's really proud of what he's achieved and sees going home as a chance to look back and really take in all that has happened. The year has passed so quickly and he hasn't really stopped to take stock."

Bedingfield's tour kicks off in Nottingham, England, on 8 March (05).
