Rap mogul Damon Dash is fed up with being called Victoria Beckham's friend - because it's eclipsed the rest of his hip-hop career.

The Roc-A-Fella Records boss insists producing the former SPICE GIRL's hit single THIS GROOVE doesn't measure up to the rest of his career, and he's sick of being labelled Beckham's mentor.

He says, "Since my affiliation with Victoria I have come into the public eye on another level. In hip-hop circles people know who I am, I've made history.

"I don't want to be known as Victoria's mentor, Victoria's friend or Victoria's producer. I want to be known as Damon Dash CEO of Roc-A-Fella Records, ROCAWEAR, and films. When you say my name don't just say I'm Victoria's producer because I am way more than that. I am Damon Dash.

"I'm sick of being called Victoria's friend. I did what I had to do. She asked me to produce a record and I did. It's not like the relationship has been severed or anything and if she has another project to do maybe I'll work with her again."
