British rocker Damon Albarn is to record a special charity album during a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo to raise awareness of the problems facing the country.
The Blur star is heading to the African nation this week (beg18Jul11) with a group of producers to create a record for Oxfam in a week. The Drc Music project has been put together to highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Congo, which has been perpetuated by years of conflict in the country.
Albarn tells Britain's The Guardian, "I'm taking six young English producers with me and we'll make it in a week. Then I'm going on a six-week holiday to dispel rumours I'm a workaholic."
