Cross-dressing comedy queen Dame Edna Everage has seen the funny side of her bust-up with actress SALMA HAYEK - by mocking the Spanish beauty's appearance and lesbian scenes in FRIDA.
Earlier this year (03) Hayek accused Edna - played by female impersonator BARRY HUMPHRIES - of racism, following jibes the comic made in her column for American magazine Vanity Fair at the expense of Spanish-speakers.
Speaking at MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY in Australia, Edna joked she had been the first choice for the lead part in Frida - the film adaptation of the life of painter FRIDA KAHLO.
Edna says, "I said, 'I'm not playing the role of a woman who has a mustache and a monobrow, and I'm not having same-sex relations on the screen.'
"I love all races, particularly white people. You know, I even like Roman Catholics."05/05/2003 17:22
