British R+B star Craig David jumped at the chance to sing a duet with Australian singer TINA ARENA at the Paris Live 8 gig on Saturday (02JUL05) after her original partner Andrea Bocelli couldn't get to the venue in time.

The pregnant beauty and blind Italian tenor were set to sing THE PRAYER together, however Bocelli was still stuck in the studio recording the opera CARMEN and would only be able to perform a solo number later in the day at the Palais de Versailles.

Luckily for Arena, pop heart-throb David happily stepped and they quickly rehearsed a duet of THE BEATLES' COME TOGETHER.

The CHAINS hitmaker says, "Craig and I were sitting in a van backstage practicing the song five minutes before going on stage. I was so relaxed though, once we were up there, Craig just couldn't believe how calm I was."

David adds, "It was wicked. She was just so spontaneous, really great and really cool."
