Laila Morse became the second star to be eliminated from 'Dancing On Ice' as she and her professional partner Lukasz Rozycki ended up the wrong side of the final dance-off at the weekend.
In truth it was always going to be an uphill battle for the 'Eastenders' star; she'd been battling with a shoulder injury as it was and also found herself the oldest contestant at 66 years-old. The final duel came against former child star Corey Feldman and while judge Robin Cousins commented "I admire your courage" in light of her ailment, fellow judge Louis Spence sealed her fate by deciding "I'm going for the strongest overall performance in the skate-off. For me, that was Corey." Morse could have few complaints and, indeed, didn't as the Press Association reported her feeling that the decision was a fair one and that she'd had fun regardless.
At the top end of the competition, it was fellow soap star - 'Emmerdale' actress Matthew Wolfenden - who was impressing the judges, gaining the top score of the fledgling series so far of 20.5. His performance was such that it moved former skating champion Katarina Witt to say "It was seven definitely for the right reasons, just for your skating skills. Definitely not for how hot you guys are, how sexy you are, how great your body movement is."
Another ill-conceived mish-mash of puerile humor and disingenuous sap from Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production...
