Italian-American singer Connie Francis is making a comeback after 20 years away from the limelight.
The WHO'S SORRY NOW hitmaker, now 66, was beaten and raped in a Long Island hotel in 1974 following a performance in Westbury, New York, and suffered further emotional trauma when her brother was murdered seven years later (81).
But Francis, who also went through mental illness and alcohol addiction, claims her music and unrelenting sense of humour got her through.
She says, "I've been through a lot. I'm a little older, a little sadder, a little wiser.
"But I've got my friends, my music and my sense of humour. That's what kept me going all these years!"
