Although the four unions representing "below the line" employees in the movie and TV industries have traditionally maintained an arms-length distance and have occasionally raided each other's jurisdictions, two of the unions, IATSE and the Teamsters (the other two are NABET and IBEW), announced on Thursday that they had agreed to work together on Common issues in the future. In a statement, IATSE President Matthew Loeb called the Teamsters "our natural allies" and observed that they work for "the same employers, and they face the same challenges we do with respect to our standard of living and health and retirement benefits."
