"The music in American Sniper is an old Ennio Morricone piece that Sergio Leone played for me on the plains of Spain 50 years ago. I remember it playing and he says, 'I'm going to use this as the theme for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...', and then he went off and they used another theme that Morricone had written. I thought, 'Gee, I wonder where that theme is', and so I looked up... We finally found a recording of it and that’s what we bought the record and just put it in." Clint Eastwood first heard the music he was destined to use for his hit film AMERICAN SNIPER half a century ago when he was working with director Sergio Leone on their classic spaghetti westerns.
