Singer Clay Aiken is considering a run for public office in his home state of North Carolina, according to a U.S. report.
The American Idol alumni has reportedly met with officials at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in a bid to represent North Carolina's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the Washingtonblade.com.
The singer has also been working with a political strategist and has met with pollsters.
He has until 28 February (14) to officially file to run for office.
Aiken is not the only celebrity who has considered a political career - actress Ashley Judd was reportedly weighing a run against Kentucky Republican Senator Mitch MCConnell last year (13).
