Former WWE legend Chyna's manager is planning to donate her brain to science following her death earlier this month (Apr16).
The athlete-turned-porn actress, real name Joanie Laurer, was found dead at her Redondo Beach, California apartment last Wednesday (20Apr16).
A cause of death has yet to be announced, but officials are reportedly investigating her passing as a possible overdose.
Chyna's manager, Anthony Anzaldo, is hoping to delve more into her death by donating her brain to Dr. Bennet Omalu, the doctor portrayed by Will Smith in Concussion who exposed the head injury epidemic in American footballers.
"We want to know what made Chyna tick," Anzaldo tells the New York Daily News.
He reveals she was contacted about donating the organ before her death as part of a brain injury lawsuit against bosses at the WWE.
"When she died, they called me again and asked, 'Can we have her brain'," Anzaldo continues. "My hope is that we can do it. I'm in the process of getting the permission to speak on behalf of her family to tell the coroner it's OK to release it.
"I've been told (Dr. Omalu) is calling the medical examiner to let them know the plan, so they'll be cautious with her brain."
Dr. Omalu has yet to comment.
