The musicians have been engaged in a new feud, ever since Kanye debuted the track Famous at his New York Fashion Week show last month (Feb16). The song features a line about the rapper sleeping with the 26-year-old, while he also claims to have made her famous by storming the stage to protest her win at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Kanye alleged Taylor had approved the line beforehand, but her representative dismissed his claims, and when she took to the stage to accept her award for Album of the Year at the Grammys last month, she shot back at Kanye with a thinly veiled jab.
"As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I wanna say to all the young women out there that there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," she said. "If you just focus on the work and you don't let those people side track you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment."
Many celebrities praised the Shake It Off star for taking a stand against the outspoken hip-hop star, but Chrissy and her husband John Legend, who is signed to Kanye's record label GOOD Music, felt uneasy after watching the speech.
"Oh man, t's so hard when you're put in the middle like that," Chrissy explained on U.S. talk show Watch What Happens Live!. "It's tough. I didn't get to see it live, but I don't know. It's so awkward. It's like an uncomfortable moment. It's just weird. John and I both were very uncomfortable by it."
And Chrissy is convinced the feud is not ending anytime soon: "Let me tell you, it's not over," she added. "This is going to go on. This is being waged."
