Christine Bleakley has revealed how she had to have three moles removed following a cancer scare within the past month. Bleakley, 33, underwent the operation to cut moles from her leg, lower back and neck, reports the UK's Sun newspaper.
The Dancing On Ice presenter - who is set to marry Frank Lampard - said, "I had my moles checked, just because I thought it was a good thing to do, and I discovered I had to have three removed". Bleakley was subsequently given the all-clear, saying, "They were all fine, thank the Lord, but I had a period of not knowing whether it was fine or not. It's a funny old thing when you start realising it's not like you're 18 and you think you're going to live forever". Christine revealed that she had originally visited the doctor about a different mole, and was surprised when the others were mentioned, saying, "I was scared about one that I could see had got bigger, but the doctor wasn't even a bit perturbed about that one. These other three I'd hardly even noticed. It just goes to show you've got to keep check of your own body and keep a look on things. It's good to feel for lumps and bumps. I tell everyone to go and do that".
Bleakley made the revelation as she prepared to run the 5k for Cancer Research UK's Race for Life. She will run alongside other celebrities in the charity run around Richmond, South West London on July 15. The Irish presenter had a cervical cancer scare back in 2010, though insists that she now goes for regular smear tests.
