Christina Milian was served divorce papers from her husband The-Dream nine days before she gave birth.

The 32-year-old producer - real name Terius Nash - claimed his marriage was "irretrievably broken" in the papers, which were filed on February 17.

The 'Dip It Low' singer gave birth to daughter Violet just over a week later on February 26.

Earlier this month, The-Dream claimed he felt suicidal in the wake of his split from the singer after just five months of marriage.

He blogged: "I've cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I've tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming.

"This is not to justify anything, it's true emotion! It's a real thing that involves real people!"

Christina and The-Dream married in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, just a week before announcing she was pregnant with their first child together.

He recently confessed to having spent little time with Violet since her birth - because Christina was protective of their daughter.

He said: "Christina's very attached. She doesn't let anybody near that baby. Not even me sometimes!"
