Christina Hendricks has joined the cast of 'Company', a new musical production at the New York Philharmonic.Christina Hendricks, the American actress best known for her role on 'Mad Men', will play a flight attendant named 'April' in a new production of the classic musical 'Company', reports the New York Times.The 'Two and a Half Men' actor Jon Cryer has also joined the cast and will play the role of 'David', a pot-smoking pal of the singleton 'Robert', portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris. The show is set to run from 7th April to 9th April 2011 and will also feature the Tony Award winning Katie Finneran as well as Jennifer Laura Thompson, Chryssie Whitehead and 'The 39 Steps' star Jill Paice. It has also been announced that the musical will feature a score by Stephen Sondheim and that Lonny Price will direct. The musical is based on the book by George Furth and follows the story a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship. In previous productions, it has been presented as a series of short vignettes in no particular chronological order.
After appearing in 'Company', Christina Hendricks will begin work on the forthcoming drama movie 'Seconds of Pleasure', set for release in 2012. The movie follows the connecting stories of several individuals travelling on the same airplane and also stars Julia Stiles and BRENDAN FRASER.
