Christina Aguilera ditched her usual entourage during the filming of 2010 movie musical Burlesque and she is convinced going it alone helped her grow up.
The singer found fame as a teenager with her debut single Genie In A Bottle in 1999 and spent years surrounded by a team of ever-present assistants.
Aguilera, who split from husband Jordan Bratman last year (10), left her entourage behind for the first time when she filmed the saucy movie with Cher - and she felt liberated after the shoot wrapped.
She tells America's W magazine, "During production, I was going through a lot of self-discovery. As a quote-unquote pop star, you have your entourage with you at all times. When you enter and leave a place, backstage, even at home - you always have your team.
"On the movie set, I didn't have anyone around me. And it felt good. When I first met my husband, I needed that helping hand to take the reins and look after me. After the movie, I grew out of being that little girl; I became more of an adult."
