Christie Brinkley will appear on Broadway for the first time playing Roxie Hart in 'Chicago'.

The 57-year-old former supermodel - who shot to fame in ex-husband Billy Joel's music video for 'Uptown Girl' - will tread the boards in the all-singing, all-dancing role as a murderess intent on staying out of jail to pursue a showbiz career.

She told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "I love to fill my life with adventures. This is my Broadway adventure. I'm certainly not going to think about the critics."

During an appearance on 'Good Morning America' this week she also revealed that Billy had given her some singing tips before she auditioned.

The beautiful blonde said: "He helped with my projection."

Being in a lively stage production will suit Christie perfectly, with the actress recently saying although she loves to keep active she gets bored of the same old exercise routine.

She said: "I like to mix it up, I like variety. I get bored if I do the same thing too much."
