The music icon has put together plans for a pair of fundraising events to boost her newly-established My People Fund, which aims to provide monthly donations of $1,000 (£790) to families who lost their homes in the Sevier County fires last week (ends02Dec16).

Kenny Rogers, Reba MCEntire, and Alison Krauss, among others, recently signed up to appear at the Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund on Tuesday (13Dec16) in Nashville, and now Stapleton, LoCash, Young, Amy Grant, Montgomery Gentry, and Big & Rich have also been added to the bill.

"I'm truly honoured that these artists are giving their time and energy to help us raise money for everyone affected by the wildfires," Parton states. "I've got so many great friends in the industry, and I'm so proud that they were so ready to step up and help me help my people in the Smoky Mountains through this telethon and the My People Fund."
