The 60-year-old rocker issued a statement on Monday (24Oct16), assuring fans he's on the road to recovery and he plans to be back onstage in early 2017.

"I'm a pretty healthy, clean-living rock and roller," he wrote. "It's really unusual for me to cancel shows but the good news is, I'm on the mend and look forward to getting back with my band as soon as I'm 100 percent. I want to thank my fans in advance for their good wishes."

In total, the Blue Hotel singer has scrapped 17 concerts including gigs in Salt Lake City, Utah and Los Angeles.
