Chris Colfer was a "living, breathing Gleek" while at high school.

The 20-year-old actor - who plays flamboyant Kurt Hummel in hit TV series 'Glee' - admits he was very similar to his on screen alter-ego when he was growing up.

He explained: "I didn't have too many friends and was made fun of and teased every day. I was a legit, 100 per cent, all original Glee club kid. "We had a choir at school and I was involved in that. And drama - I loved performing arts. I was a living, breathing Gleek."

The star also revealed his character - who struggled to be accepted by his family and classmates for his sexuality in the first series of the musical show - will find love in the upcoming second season, which looks set to be just as action-packed as the first.

He explained: "Kurt is getting a boyfriend. Britney Spears will make an appearance, and I've also heard rumours of Jennifer Lopez and even Susan Boyle starring in it! I'm a big fan of SuBo so I'd love that.

"I also want Julie Andrews to play my grandmother. I want that badly."
