Chris Brown has come under fire for seeming to boast about winning a Grammy.

The rapper - who picked up the Best R&B Album prize at the ceremony on Sunday (12.02.12), where he also performed - appeared to take to twitter to rant about people who questioned whether he should have been at the show three years after was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

In a series of tweets - which have now been deleted, but were preserved by Mashable.com - he allegedly wrote: "HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That's the ultimate F**K OFF!

"Strange how we pick and choose who to hate!. Let me ask u this. Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold DRUGS (poisoning). But yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do. Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!! But guess what???"

However, a source close to Chris denied he posted the comments himself.

The insider told RadarOnline: "Someone does his postings on twitter and when he saw that he ordered it taken down immediately."
