Chris Brown won four gongs at the Bet Awards last night (26.06.11).

The 'Beautiful People' hitmaker was the big winner at the ceremony at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, which saw Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Wiz Khalifa also pick up accolades, as well as siblings Willow and Jaden Smith, who jointly won the Young Star prize.

Chris won the Viewers' Choice, Video of the Year and Collaboration awards for his song 'Look at Me Now' - which features Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes - and he took home the Male R&B Artist honour.

The 22-year-old singer also performed at the event, as did Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Cee-Lo Green and Queen Latifah to honour the passing of Nate Dogg, Clarence Clemons, Teena Marie and Gil Scott Heron.

But Chris nearly did not receive the Viewers' Choice accolade after a fan presenting the prize revealed he had won, before announcing Rihanna - the ex-girlfriend he was convicted of assaulting in 2009 - had triumphed in the category.

Drake went on stage to collect the award for the Bajan singer, but it was later confirmed by BET that Chris was actually the winner.

However, Rihanna did manage to get her hands on one gong, taking home the Female R&B artist accolade.
