Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to two felony charges stemming from his alleged fight with ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February (09).
The R&B star showed up at Los Angeles County Court on Monday afternoon (06Apr09) with his lawyer, Mark Geragos, and dressed all in black.
He stood silent and stoic as Geragos quickly discussed the case with the judge, who set a preliminary hearing for 29 April (09).
Brown was charged with two felonies - assault and making criminal threats.
Outside court, Rihanna's attorney, Donald Etra, reiterated promises that his client will do "everything that the law requires her to do," adding, "She would be pleased if this was over quickly."
Rihanna was not at the arraignment hearing.
Etra went on to explain that the delay between the two hearings "gives the parties the opportunity to discuss the case" and reach an agreement with prosecutors "without a preliminary hearing and without a trial".
