Cult actress Chloe Sevigny wants to go mainstream, and is lobbying for a role in Spider-Man 3.

Sevigny's impressive resume is mainly made up of high-brow hits and daring independent movies - she won an OSCAR nomination for her role in 1999 hit BOYS DON'T CRY, and performed a sex act on Vincent Gallo in controversial 2003 film BROWN BUNNY.

But now she's reached 30, the AMERICAN PSYCHO star is ready to tackle the mainstream, and is desperate to try her hand at an action film.

She says, "I'd love to be in Spider-Man 3. There's a villain in it who's a blonde, buxom girl, and I'm trying to get it.

"That may surprise people, since actors are always thought of as their last film or who they were. I think I'll always be drawn to films more difficult to watch, but I don't want to be a snobby cinephile."
