A picture from the remake of Carrie, featuring Chloe Moretz, has given nostalgic-cinema fans a glimpse of an iconic Hollywood still, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The scene, which depicted Carrie White donning a blood soaked prom dress in the original, now graced by Moretz has got film-buffs and the movie-press all in a sentimental tangle about the upcoming, and highly anticipated remake of Brian De Palma's 1976 classic supernatural horror film, Carrie. Based on the novel by Stephen King, the film tells the story of an outcast teenage girl who discovers a strange telekinetic power whenever she's angered or distressed. Carrie is to be reincarnated by teenage-prodigy, Chloe Moretz, and with her experience in Kick Ass and Let Me In, this isn't the first time the 15-year old star has had to deal with liberal servings of blood. Moretz, who is enjoying a fine career despite her young age, is being rewarded for a spate of mature performances, and considering the films cult status, she'll have to give her best performance yet to please the droves of horror-buffs likely to see the film at it's April 2012 release.
Julianne Moore joins Moretz as Carrie's mother, Margaret White. The 51-year old actress, best known for her roles in Magnolia and Children of Men, was also revealed amidst nostalgic fury, with a picture of her in a white gown holding a knife by her side getting horror-fanatics just as stoked as the aforementioned, blood-drenched Moretz.
