Rapper Chief Keef has confirmed reports he has been dropped by bosses at Interscope Records.

The embattled hip-hop star, real name Keith Cozart, has been faced with escalating legal problems over the past few years, including a warrant which was issued for his arrest in August (14) after he failed to appear at an Illinois court hearing relating to an arrest for driving under the influence (Dui) in March (14).

And in an effort to escape his legal woes in his native Chicago, the 19 year old relocated to Los Angeles this past summer (14) to be closer to his bosses at Interscope.

However, the move simply made matters worse for Keef, as tensions between him and label executives hit an all-time low as they argued over the direction of his career.

And on Tuesday (21Oct14), Keef took to Twitter.com and confirmed reports he had been dropped by posting a screen shot of a text conversation between himself and a friend, in which the hip-hop star wrote, "I been dropped for a week now."

He continues, "Laughing because to me I been Dropped. mfs (motherf**kers) ain't help me Pay no Mf (motherf**king) Bills... When (Interscope co-founder) Jimmy (Iovine) n (rapper Dr.) Dre left that’s when I said f**k Interscope! Big D**k style. that’s what I signed up for not this new staff!"

Chief Keef was signed to the label in 2012 and released his first album, Finally Rich, later that year.
