The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star was paired up with Cheryl for the fourth season of the hit U.S. ballroom competition in 2007, and they made it far in the contest, finishing in fourth place.
However, nearly a decade later, Cheryl confessed that throughout her 18 seasons on the show, her least favourite partner was Ian, but didn't give too many details as to why she abhorred working with him.
In a new interview on Matt Weiss and Theo Von’s Allegedly podcast, Cheryl says, "The fact that his name is not EE-AN and it’s EYE-AN makes me want to throw up!"
The hosts mentioned they also disliked Ian from watching him during his stint on reality series Celebrity Apprentice, and Cheryl concurred, adding "That’s the true colours that they didn’t show on Dancing With the Stars... Think of spending time with that for, like, eight to 10 hours a day, seven days a week for three months."
She even admitted she begged producers to let them go early on in the competition, but they refused and she had to see the journey through.
"It made me want to slit my wrists," Cheryl divulged. "I was, like, crying to the executives. I was like, ‘Is there any way to please just eliminate us?’ They’re like, ‘We can’t. We can’t do that,’ and I swear, every time I asked, we just kept going. We would last till the end.”
Cheryl quit Dancing with the Stars in 2014, and throughout her tenure on the show, she won twice with pop star Drew Lachey and former American footballer Emmitt Smith, and was also partnered with Gilles Marini, Wayne Newton, Robert Kardashian, and Jack Osbourne, among others.
The new Allegedly podcast episode will be released on iTunes on Tuesday (19Apr16).
