Veteran entertainer Cher has laughed off reports her net worth stands at over $600 million (£400 million), insisting the figure is "nothing like that".
The Oscar and Grammy winner has built up a massive personal fortune from her singing and acting careers since shooting to fame in the 1960s as part of pop duo Sonny & Cher.
She has spent the past three years performing a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace hotel and casino, banking $60 million (£40 million) for the show, which will end in January (11).
But Cher is adamant speculation about her personal fortune is wholly inaccurate.
In an interview on U.S. news show 20/20, she says, "It doesn't even resemble anything like that! I'm doing fine but it's nothing like that! I came from a place where I had to wrap my shoes with rubber bands to keep the soles on! (But) I know how to appreciate it."
The candid chat will air on Friday night (19Nov10).
