Chaz Bono, the American writer and musician, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show today (10th April 2011) to speak about her recent sex change. Formerly known as Chastity Bono, Chaz Bono opened up about the transition to becoming a man and discussed how her mother Cher has taken the change, reports ABC News.
The 42-year-old daughter of Cher and Sonny Bono told Oprah, "Life was always so much more difficult. It also felt like my body was literally betraying me.You have this image of yourself and all of a sudden your body does the exact opposite of what you feel". Chaz appears in the new documentary 'Becoming Chaz', which airs on Winfrey's OWN network tomorrow (10th April 2011). The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and Chaz says her mother has already given it her seal of approval, saying, "She really liked it a lot. But I think it was probably hard to see.She has finally gotten that this is the thing that's making me happy". Dressed in a pinstriped blazer, checked shirt and trousers, Chaz told Oprah how he has been injecting himself with testosterone to help the transitional process.
Chaz Bono also releases his new book 'Transition: The Story of How I Became a Man' today (10th April 2011).
