The 24-year-old singer â who has two children, Ruby, three, and 20-month-old Dexter, with her former fiance â first met her current boyfriend, songwriter Jonathan Powell, while she was still with Gavin but only realised she was attracted to him after they split in May.
She said: âIâd been writing with Johnny for a while, but it was a good couple of months after me and Gavin split. I asked Gavâs permission in a way. I said to him, âI really want you to know that nothing ever went on between me and Johnny while we were still together.â
âJohnny had a girlfriend when we were first working together, and I had Gav. And Iâm not that type of person. I hadnât really noticed any feelings towards Johnny at that point. When Iâm a taken woman, Iâm a taken woman â thatâs the way I see things. And Iâve still got a lot of love and respect for Gav.â
Although she has a new man, Charlotte still isnât fully over her separation from Gavin and has no intention of rushing her fledgling romance.
She said in an interview with heat magazine: âJohnnyâs amazing and brilliant, but itâs early days and the split with Gav is still raw.
âHeâs really great, heâs lovely â but to be honest, Iâm pretty self-sufficient. Itâs all very early stages at the moment, but everyone is jumping the gun.â
The âCrazy Chickâ hitmaker thought she would spend the rest of her life with 28-year-old Gavin until he returned from Norway earlier this year after filming Arctic wilderness survival show â71 Degrees Northâ.
She explained: âWhen he proposed, I was overjoyed. It was amazing. I really was going to marry Gav and spend the rest of my life with him. We had our problems as do any couple, but we just thought, âWe love each other and weâll get through that. Weâve got two beautiful children.â
âBut then he came back from Norway and heâd changed and Iâd had time to think and we were both like, âWhat do you think?â Weâd both had a change of heart. So we were both of the same mindset.â
Pixie Lottâs âcrazyâ cast
Pixie Lott thinks itâs âcrazyâ that she is to play Sharon Stoneâs daughter in a new film.
The British singer has landed a role in âSweet Baby Jesusâ â which follows a pregnant woman and her partner who are mistaken for the bearing the second incarnation of Jesus Christ â and she admits she is amazed that she was chosen to appear alongside so many famous faces.
Explaining the role, Pixie said: âItâs crazy, isnât it? Itâs called âSweet Baby Jesusâ and itâs released next year. Itâs a comedy about a man named Joe who accompanies his pregnant girlfriend Mary to Bethlehem, where the Villagers assume they are the second coming. Iâm playing Mary and Sharon Stone plays my mum. Adrien Brody and Bette Midler are both in it too.
âI feel so lucky that the cast is so amazing. Itâs going to be a privilege to work with them. I had no idea things would take off so quicklyâ
The 19-year-old star â who only released her debut single âMama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)â last year â made her movie debut in US teen drama âFred: The Movieâ last year and says her small role made her desperately want to act again.
She told Britainâs Star magazine: âIt was a light-hearted kids film, so that gave me a little taster. I loved it and wanted to get more involved.
âWeâll see how this one goes. I donât know if the film will do well or not but it will be a great experience to work with so many amazing people and focus more on my acting.â
Pixie will start filming âSweet Baby Jesusâ in the next couple of months.
