Multi-millionaire singer Charlotte Church has an impoverished step-sister who struggles to support her family on state benefits.
ELISHA CHURCH - the daughter of Charlotte's step-father JAMES - has been cut off by her dad since the VOICE OF AN ANGEL singer shot to stardom, and has to get by on $209 (GBP123)-per-week from British government benefits.
But 21-year-old Elisha - the mother of two young children - doesn't resent Charlotte because she believes the 17-year-old missed out on a proper childhood due to her career.
Elisha says, "I don't think Charlotte had much of a childhood. It was either dancing or singing or extra lessons. Her mother MARIA wanted Charlotte to be something. She wanted better for her."
The complicated family ties are explored in new documentary FALLEN ANGEL, which will be screened on Britain's CHANNEL 4 next week (begs16FEB04) to coincide with Charlotte's 18th birthday, when she will be given access to her $27 million (GBP16 million) fortune.
A source at the TV company says, "Viewers will be surprised. There has been behaviour which is far from angelic - and not just from Charlotte."09/02/2004 13:55
